AA11’s collision with WTC1 occurred at 8:46 a.m., or 9:46 p.m. in Korea, which means that there are many, many stories of workers and students coming home to see the towers on fire or collapsing.

Some LSM testimonies start from here, usually ending in the testifier going into a rabbit hole of 9/11 footage a few years later and accidentally finding LSM. Believe these or not, that’s up to you.

A total of 28 Korean nationals passed away, 5th highest number in terms of nationality.

As is with most tragedies, disrespectful comments and meme-ish materials were somewhat widespread among students.

Interesting read! I always find it fascinating how other regions of the world reacted to that day. As a Korean, what’s your personal perspective on how 9/11 is handled where you are?

The thing is, a lot of people simply see the event as the catalyst for the US war in the Middle East. Not many actually know what happened in detail. Kinda unfortunate really, it’s truly one of the, if not the most significant event in the new millennium.

That’s quite interesting and I agree with you there. It definitely must be taught the same way they teach kids in school about the World Wars. Like you said, most people probably see 9/11 as the trigger for the war in the middle east. So it feels strange that an event of that magnitude gets sort of brushed aside as ‘one of those things that just happened’.
